Digital transformation has hit the healthcare industry. It is therefore not a surprise that this year’s Asia Health Summit will focus on the fusion of technology and healthcare, including—you guess it—gadgets and apps in health and wellness.
The health summit, which carries the theme, “Prognosis: Business as Unusual”, will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City on 12 October 2016.
More Dynamic, Holistic, Interactive
The operative word for this event, as carried in its theme, is “unusual”. After all, “…the healthcare delivery landscape has evolved, patients have become more sophisticated while more options are now available to them,” according to Carmie de Leon, Healthway Medical’s vice-president for Sales and Marketing.
Thus, what was for a long time the traditional structure in healthcare has turned into one that is more dynamic, holistic and interactive. For instance, the patient-doctor relationship is becoming more engaging.
Speakers are expected to share insights into how individuals, corporations, and health institutions can adapt to these changes.
What to Expect
The 12 speakers cut across the various segments of the industry. They range from Willis Towers Watson’s Susan Lachica, who will reveal the health industry trends that impact private and public sector organizations; to Lloyd Tronco of Medix, an electronic medical record (EMR) platform for hospitals and clinics; to Beng Coronel of Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP), which has a digital product that helps health maintenance organization (HMO) subscribers locate suitable clinics, hospitals and medical professionals.
One speaker is expected to talk about the value of telehealth, the new wave in doctor consultation.
This Health Summit is geared for the public, particularly business leaders who are interested to learn about the evolution of the healthcare industry, its best practices and available alternatives. It will be presented by Healthway Medical as part of the latter’s preventive care and healthy lifestyle campaign.
Aspen Pharmaceuticals, Bioessence, HaelthTech, JLL and Regus are the corporate sponsors.
